Sandra Ferson Young

I participated in the weekend divorce with Sandra Young as my legal representative. Communication with her prior to the weekend was limited, so I was provided with several unwelcome surprises during the collaborative meeting. The first was when she proposed that my ex get legal custody of our childre...n?! Also, after over 20 years of marriage and my ex making three times what I do, I walked away without any maintenance. I felt completely abandoned during the proceedings as she surrendered control to the other attorney. By the end, I had resorted to phoning a friend for legal advice and moral support during breaks to get through the negotiations. Two words, "just don't". You get what you pay for.

This attorney was not up to the task of dealing with the complexities of untangling a lengthy marriage. In addition, she played a passive role during collaborative meetings, allowing the other attorney to lead and influence agendas and decisions. I never really felt that she had my back and after 1...3 months of frustration and unnecessary expense, I terminated the agreement and brought in a replacement collaborative attorney who was able to assert, organize and lead, and thus bring the case to a close within 3 months.
