I would classify myself as a pretty intelligent being that is well versed and one who does extensive research when I don’t know or understand something. I say that to say I barely had ANY questions for Darran B during our face to face meetups due to him having all the answers to my questions already covered. The man is a wizard as it relates to law and was worth EVERY SINGLE DIME (plus some) for his efforts, knowledge and expertise. Excellent (5 stars ) is undermining the review for Darran. Avvo should consider adding 1000 stars for "Super Excellent" for super attorney like Darran. I cannot say enough in praise for Darran as an attorney. He is most conscientious and knowledgeable attorney who will never let you down. I hired hi...m close to my divorce case nearing trial. My case was very high conflict divorce case and had 2 attorney's and me as Pro Se , which was getting dragged endlessly , Darran was a choice I made among 10 attorney's I interviewed to represent me at fag end of my case. And I was not wrong in having him represent me !! He picked up my high conflict case with such ease and got it up to conclusion with exceptional results ! Darran not only knows the law thoroughly but he argues assertively and effectively maintaining not only his client dignity but also is very professional and respectful to opposing party and counsel. One can never go wrong hiring Darran to represent them and as far as fee is concerned, trust me he is worth it, even though he is not all about money. I had other attorneys too on this case and even though their per hour rate is way less than Darran but results are poor and unsatisfactory. This law firm is not money focused at all and if something is not agreeable on their invoice they will look into it. Client satisfaction is most important for this law firm and they treat each client as their family. I did not have any issues with Darran's staff that could not be resolved. My only regret is I wish I had found Darran before. This is Family law firm with heart of a family and an attorney with all good qualities of head, heart and soul. He will not give false expectations but will get the desired outcome as prescribed by law. Put your trust in Darran and believe me you will never go wrong having him represent you. I recommend him for anybody who wants a winning attorney on their case. Hire him, trust him and relax !

I cannot say enough good things about this law firm. Initially, I started out with a high priced downtown Chicago law firm to represent me during my divorce and child custody issues. I spent thousands of dollars on my previous attorney who basically did nothing for me. My previous lawyer did very ...little work on my case and I kept receiving huge bills. My case wasn't moving along as fast as I wanted it to and the legal promises made by my previous attorney weren't happening. I was absolutely frustrated. I was recommended to The Barhaugh Law Firm by a coworker of mine. I had a free half hour phone consultation with Darran and I knew right away that he was very knowledgeable and that he had enough experience. I am glad that I hired him because my experiences with this law firm were incredibly positive. He was very professional and took time to fit me in his schedule even at the last minute when legal emergencies arose with my ex. He always returned every one of my phone calls or responded to my emails either that very same day or first thing the next morning. He put a lot of time and effort into my case and he kept me regularly updated. In court, he was fantastic and represented me very well. He was not intimidated by the well known high priced lawyer my ex hired. He even arranged my child custody so that I am able to move out of the state with my child if I so wish. My previous high priced attorney wasn't even willing to consider that, let alone fight for it in court. Darran worked with me regarding a payment plan since I had already spent thousands on my previous attorney. I was extremely satisfied with Darran's legal representation and I will continue to have Darran as my attorney. What I like best about Darran is that he is a straight shooter (no BS), he is a hard worker, and he never promised me something that he couldn't deliver in regards to my legal case. He took time to explain the law to me. My previous attorney did not do that. I am writing this review because I went through hell during my divorce and child custody before hiring The Barhaugh Law Firm, and I had wished that I would have known about The Barhaugh Law Firm during the initial stages of the process. I would have saved myself a lot of time, money and aggrevation. Do yourself a favor and have this law firm represent you for divorce and child custody. I am telling you, you can't go wrong with this law firm. I can only imagine the disasterous legal outcomes if I had stayed with my previous attorney, and I thank God I found and hired The Barhaugh Law firm.
