Don't make the same mistake I made. Take my advise

I hired Mark Edison for a property matter and was disappointed to discover that Robert Metz, whom I had not knowingly retained, was handling most of the case. Robert initially introduced himself as someone who would “assist Mark with litigation work,” but it became clear over time that he was doing m...ost of the work. Documents were riddled with basic errors—like a notice to vacate with the wrong address and a draft that even contained another client’s name. These were clearly reused templates, sent incomplete and without even inserting the correct information. They operate out of a shared workspace, not a traditional office, and refuse to take phone calls, requiring everything by email. If you’re fine with your attorney never wanting to meet—because they’re either too busy for a paying client or too busy traveling—they may be a great match for you. But if you expect personal attention, accountability, and accurate legal work, I would look elsewhere.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
