Mark Steven Grochocinski

Mark Grochocinski obtained his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Illinois in 1977 and his law degree from the Loyola University of Chicago Law School in 1980. He co-founded and helped manage for more than 30 years a successful small law firm (less than 10 lawyers) in Chicago’s southwest suburbs focused on the debtor-creditor relationship. His clients include banks, credit unions, finance companies, collection agencies and other commercial and consumer lending, leasing, sales and service organizations, businesses and individuals. He has broad and deep experience in collections and recoveries; repossessions and liquidations; liens and mortgage foreclosures; secured and unsecured lending; contractor, subcontractror and construction issues; the general protection and advancement of debtors’ and creditors’ rights; and the specific litigation the debtor-creditor relationship often generates and inspires. He chaired more than 200 hearings for the Circuit Court of Cook County’s mandatory court-annexed arbitration program; tried, arbitrated or settled many cases in the circuit courts of Cook, Will, Du Page, Lake and Kane Counties; and argued two appeals. He is a member of Illinois’ Creditors’ Bar Association, among others, and the trial bar for the federal district court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division.
