DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR CLIENTS

This attorney was a referal from another attorney, Peter whom originally took my case and a year later decided someone in my county would be a better fit. Attorney Leibforth made an appointment with me at his office in Oak Lawn. After driving all the way to his office from the Schaumburg area, I ...found he had left the office to attend a play, without any notification to me that he would not be able to make the appointment. A week later he agreed to speak with me by phone since I do not own a car. I waited all day for a phone call that never came. I called two days later, since I was giving him a chance to contact me at any time on Thursday also. No one was available to answer the phone at approximately 10:30 a.m. so I left a message simply stating that I had basically been blown off twice and did not appreciate not being contacted by his assistant to at least tell me he could not call me the second time I made myself available on his day of choosing. He made it a point to call me after he received that message. He was EXTREMELY condescending and blamed me for his lack of ability to keep an appointment. He was very clear about how important he was and how busy he was at court etc., and he was not pleasant about it at all. In the end he cancelled any dealings with me (which I believe is for the best) but he spoke to me as of I were a child who had gotten in trouble at school. I don't appreciate the way I was disregarded, nor the way he spoke to me like I was so much less important than he, and he was to busy to keep appointments with me even by phone because he was in court all morning. This attorney obviously has a full case load and does not need any new clients. He had plenty of time to rush a cancellation letter to me, however, even after I requested he return my documents, they were not included in the correspondence that came from Peter and not Attorney Liebforth. I will say his assistant does not help his situation since she does not forward messages nor does she remember phone calls, IF she is available to take them.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
