ATTORNEY TERRY FOGARTY

“A little about me”

     I grew up on the South Side of Chicago in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood. After High School I became a paramedic and worked in the Chicagoland area for about five years, when I went back to school. After several years of college, I enlisted in the United States Air Force, where I became a Chinese Linguist. While stationed in Washington DC, I attended law school in the evenings at American University, earning my Juris Doctor and graduating Cum Laude. 

Upon my retirement from the Air Force, I returned home to Chicago with my wife and five kids to practice law. I worked for five years as General Counsel for a Civil Litigation, Real Estate, and Estate Planning firm. I left the firm in early 2015 to focus full-time on Estate Planning and Real Estate. Currently I live with my family on Chicago’s south side in Palos Park, and also have office space in Oak Forest.

Family Oriented

     My wife Elizabeth is a trained paralegal who assists me in my practice, and my daughter Briana helps me as well. As a family, we help other families plan for their futures and protect their loved ones; our goal is to provide comprehensive services that fulfill the unique needs and concerns of each client.

     My practice is not built around finding clients, but on building trust and relationships. My work is not complete until I have proven to you that I am an honest, knowledgeable attorney and that your family is safe in my hands. It is my goal to become your trusted legal advisor; the person you think off when you are asked if you know a good lawyer!

     By concentrating on Estate Planning and Real Estate, I try to keep my area of practice small to minimize overhead and pass the savings on to you. This also allows me to focus on these areas of the law, gaining and maintaining the expertise needed to give you the highest quality legal services that you deserve. I am also a member of WealthCounsel, a collegial group of over 2,500 estate planning attorneys nationwide. This network is a tremendous resource, allowing me to stay up to date on changes in the law as well as current issues and trends in estate planning.
