Very Happy with Attorney Hicks

I was able to hire Attorney Hicks on my court case. Seeing that this was first time ever having a court case I did not know what to expect. From the first call with Attorney Hicks to end of my case she was extremely helpful and walked me through each step. She helped calm my concerns regarding my cas...e. I would highly recommend Attorney Hicks!!

DUI

Attorney Hicks was very professional, knowledgeable, honest, and “on point” with everything! She is the best attorney to hire for misdemeanor and felony cases. She helped me beat a DUI charge with a trooper with over 250 DUI arrests under his belt. I admire her skills and would recommend her for any ...case!

Not even 1 star

Hired her without any knowledge about her only what she told me and that was that she was well known in a certain courthouse. Turns out she wasn't. Went to court several times before I was sure I wanted to go to trail because of the lack of promising evidence police couldn't provide, only to find out... by my attorney he was a new judge but when we went to court that day, he was the same judge from the beginning! Needless to say I pled guilty to a lesser charge that I previously was told only had 1yr supervision, just to be told it was now 18mons supervision. I truly believed that with no prior record, no evidence and w/o blowing, she would get this behind me. Im shameful how I was represented and should've just paid an additional 2k for a well known man by the name of Jack Friedlander that could eat the case. WORST 2k EVER SPENT ESPECIALLY BECAUSE MY FUTURE IS INVOLVED

Dear anonymous, It is unfortunate that you were not please with the outcome of your case. Since you did not provide your name, I can only address your concerns as I would anyone who has received a DUI in Illinois. Illinois is very strict on anyone who drives under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The fact that you did not have a "prior record" or that you did not "blow" is not enough to always win in a DUI trial. An attorney must look at the totality of the evidence and determine what would be the best outcome for each individual case. Further, I have over a decade of experience in criminal defense and I also have a strong presence in Cook County Courthouses. As an advocate for those who have been charged in criminal court, I have never proceeded to a final judgment without thoroughly discussing the pros and cons of the case with my clients and allowing them to make the final decision on how they would like to proceed in their case. As you discussed in your review, my office was able to reduce your matter to a lesser charge and you received Court Supervision. Also, I believe in client satisfaction and my office would have been more than happy to refund your money prior to your final decision to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Anonymous, you are correct that your future is involved when you have been charged in criminal court, please consider this the next time you drive in Illinois.

Shameful

Was referred to her for being aggressive and quick in the court room by another attorney who had nothing but good things to say. Met her for consult. Provided her with all the confidential information pertaining to the case so that she would not have to do anything but get us in front of the judge si...nce time is very important in this case. I was charged and paid an exaggerated "investigation" fee. I called, left messages, and sent text messages only to inquire about the status and she ignored me. That's when i asked the referring attorney to reach out. They did and guess what? They got a response with no problem. That's when she finally called me. Told me she couldn't help. I asked about the retainer agreement that she coincidentally forgot to have me sign and the refund of all or at least half the money back. She got upset, said no and although i'm who she consulted with and also who paid her, she didn't have to talk to me because i'm not her client. Now i have to work on getting my money back. I paid her to look into a case and all she did was take my money. Don't get your money took.

Dear Anonymous, My office strives for the utmost client satisfaction in every case. As I explained to you previously, you are not my client. Therefore, because you are not my client, I have the duty to protect the attorney/client privilege with the person that is my client. Further, all legal services were provided for your friend. If you would like to find out detailed information regarding this matter, you may contact your friend and ask him because only he has the right to break the privilege. If your friend is unhappy with my services, I would be more than happy to discuss this matter off line with him.
