This attorney did the exact same thing to me! It sounds like it it was the standard form of procedure. I was also contacted by a representative from his office, they came to my house and explained the procedure to me. We worked out the agreement, filled out all the forms and gave them all the paper ...work they requested. I was never able to contact the lawyer after that point. The Representative, told me he was sick and could not be reached immediately.

I hired this attorney with the intention to save my property by doing a loan modification. There was a representative from his law firm who visited me to my home and had me fill out documents and charged me a large amount of money to work on a loan modification. Its been almost a year and the Attorne...y nor the Representative have worked on my case because Attorney Dure was diagnosed with an illness and has referred my case to an Attorney who wants to charge me all over again. I asked the new Attorney why was I being charged if I had paid Attorney Dure in full. She simply told me she has no control over any monies paid to Dure and if I wanted to retain her for services I would have to pay her directly. ISince June 1st 2011 I have been trying to reach Attorney Dure but he does not repsond to any of my cals nor corespondence. I have hired an attorney to contct him and start legal action against this attorney.
