Alan M. Kaplan represents management in labor, employment and benefits law. His clients are in the manufacturing, warehousing, service and professional industries. He provides counseling, drafting, negotiation and litigation services, representing clients in federal and state courts and before the federal and state employment and labor agencies. He specializes in union avoidance, union negotiations and representing management in grievances and arbitrators and also advises clients regarding wage and hour, family leave, wrongful termination, harassment, safety and health as well as the drafting and implementation of employment policies. A 1973 graduate of Northwestern University, he earned a JD degree from DePaul College of Law. Entering government service, he served in the Washington, D.C. headquarters office and as a hearing officer, prosecuting attorney and investigator for the Chicago Regional Office of the National Labor Relations Board.
