Keep looking for another honest lawyer who will work for you and with you.

He was completely unprepared for each court date, he showed up late for the first one in which he obtained documents for the very first time. He had to read over them at that time. He spent very little time explaining and if we asked a question he seemed quite irritated and out of time. He was also ...very expensive. He also ended up sending a bill for more money and when asked why so much we were told he would charge another $1000 to come up with an invoice.
