Also call the Department of Motor Vehicles and make sure that you do not have a lien on the car., but I agree with Attorney Adams, sounds like a scam.

Just an FYI, they still can sue on the contract if the car not in the same shape as when they gave you the loan.

The bankrupt may not help you with the taxes, but a short sale does not prevent you from filing. Call an attorney.
