Timothy M. Black

I am certified to practice law in state courts in Illinois, and federal court in the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Michigan.  I work as an attorney for a criminal law solo practitioner in Park Ridge, IL, where I have gained experience in the defense of a wide variety of criminal cases, including a high profile 3-week murder jury trial, a high profile police misconduct bench trial, and a federal fraud conspiracy jury trial.

Before attending law school, I spent approximately three years as an assistant to a family law solo practitioner in San Diego, CA, where I learned many valuable lessons about the day-to-day operations of a law practice.

In law school, I gained extensive experience with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; between working in a District Judge's chambers, working as a Law Clerk with the United States Attorney's Office, and doing federal 1983 litigation with the Illinois Attorney General and City of Chicago, I had the opportunity to appear in front of Federal District Judges and Federal Magistrate Judges, write motions, respond to discovery, take a deposition, and observe jury and bench trials.

I plan to use the skills I've gathered to continue a career in the courtroom, working as a trial lawyer in the field of criminal law.
