Job well done

Lori successfully appealed my case with DCFS. I was a victim of domestic battery and was charged with child neglect for going to the police station in a dire situation while my kids were asleep. Lori gathered all of the evidence from Cop cams, interviews, etc. and poignantly presented my case to the ...judge. I was cleared of all charges. It was easy communicating with Lori and she alleviated my concerns leading up to the case.

Helped me out of a bogus charge against me

Assisted cutting red tape and navigating a problem with DCFS. Retainer and invoices were very reasonable. Thank you Lori for your help!

Caring, Professional Miracle Worker

Lori took on our case when no one else was willing to fight false accusations made by DCPS! She pays attention to the details, is extremely knowledgeable, and went above and beyond keeping us up to date and explaining all the options. She listens! Her rates are very reasonable and it’s clear that he...r focus is on her clients and the issues, not fees. We still turn to her first for advice and guidance. She won our case and earned our appreciation and trust for life!

She helped us win our case

We found Lori a pleasure to deal with. We hired her for a dcfs case. We were overwhelmed and confused as to how to navigate the whole legal and dcfs system as this is not something we knew anything about. We also were concerned about legal fees piling up as our case dragged on for a year. Lori worked... out a flat fee payment agreement which made us much calmer. We felt like she gave our case all the time and attention that it required. She guided and explained everything throughout the process. She was available for all our questions. She won our case. We would highly recommend her.

I got my life back because of Lori

I am a middle-class Caucasian woman who never dreamed I’d be defending myself against DCFS. It happened and it was as bad as you can imagine. I love, protect, advocate, worry about and take very special care of my children. I would never harm my children because they mean everything to me. From t...he moment I contacted Lori, she made me feel assured that she would do whatever she could to defend me. At the same time, she didn’t over-promise. She helped me understand the mandatory process that would be involved and patiently explained the steps that would be necessary and could not be skipped. I’m someone who knows how to problem solve and has found a lot of success in asserting myself when I’ve faced serious challenges. She helped me understand that tact would not be beneficial in this situarion. Not at all. That was very hard to me because I and direct and determine individual. While she understood I did not deserve to be implicated, there were things that people said/reported (even my children) that would be hard to disprove. DCFS doesn’t operate under the same rules and stipulations as a police investigation. The bottom line is that you’re presumed guilty and the burden of proof falls onto you/the accused. I actually understand and appreciate that because children are involved and they deserve to be protected at all cost. In the end, Lori’s experience defending so many innocent parents of eledged abuse and her relationships with DCFS are what led to the charges being unfounded in my case. I am enternally grateful. I can finally sleep again.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Lori Levin for many years and am familiar with her work, having referred cases to her. Lori is the absolute "go to" lawyer for DCFS investigations & administrative hearings. I know what it is like to go up against slow-moving, bureaucratic state agencies that issue arbitrary and damaging findings of fact or conduct unfair investigations. Attorneys who do that kind of work need two things: an aggressive nature (not willing to sit back and let the case happen according to the agency's timetable) and a deep understanding of the nuances in the administrative code and regulations that the agency must follow. Without both, you'll be overwhelmed and your clients will suffer. Lori has the perfect combination of these qualities - she knows the rules backwards and forwards and will use everything at her disposal to fight for her clients. I know when I refer a case to Lori that the client is in the best hands. I strongly recommend her for all criminal defense and DCFS work."
