The Court affirmed Lee's motion to suppress evidence because the officer had no probable cause to stop and arrest Lee. The officer's detention of Lee could not be called a "community caretaking" stop, ... and thus probable cause was necessary. This ruling resulted in the dismissal of the charges in Lee's case.
