Daniel Joseph Wilbrandt

Dan Wilbrandt is the former Chief of the Criminal Division and had been with the State’s Attorney’s Office since 2012 after receiving his law degree with honors from the John Marshall Law School. Dan was part of the office management team as Chief of the Criminal Division and was the Misdemeanor Unit Supervisor, Felony Review supervisor, Specialty Court Supervisor, a member of the Felony Division, Drug Induced Homicide Unit, DUI Court, Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Felony Review, Misdemeanor, and Juvenile Divisions. Dan’s experience ranges from traffic tickets to 1st degree murder jury trials. While working at the State’s Attorney’s Office, Dan taught courses for law enforcement and other attorneys on DUI traffic stops, cannabis DUI investigations, and field sobriety tests, amongst other topics in law enforcement. Before attending law school, he received both a M.A. in Communication and B.A in Speech Communications from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Dan has previously served in the public sector with law enforcement and juvenile justice agencies. Dan is a life-long resident of West Dundee and has been a Village Trustee since 2013.

Dan has recently moved to private practice and covers all criminal defense matters for the Wilbrandt Legal firm.
