Highly recommend!

I hired Cynthia to handle my divorce case. She was extremely professional and helped me tremendously. I emailed and called her a lot and she always took the time to help me understand. She was more than reasonably priced and even now a year after my case was settled she continues to help me when I... need it. I highly recommend her.

Poor communication

Cynthia does not respond to calls or emails in a timely manner. Weeks would go by between my email and a response. I went to every court date and she would rush in and out without discussing my case with me. I ran late once and emailed her, I waited for 4 hours outside of the court room waiting f...or her, only to be told by her secretary that she was "still in court". 4 hours later I find out she was in and out within 10 minutes. She knew that I went to every court date but did not have the decency to check her email or to find out where I was. I arrived at 9:05 and she was out the door and on her way home at 9:10. Expensive mistake. 0 stars if allowed.

If you’re considering Cynthia J. Briscoe, she is the attorney that you are looking for.

I retained Cynthia J. Briscoe practically at the last minute for a custody case that was already scheduled for trial. I provided Cynthia with a ton of information for the case and she really stepped up to the plate and took immediate action. I was astonished with the fact that she reviewed and retain...ed all the information I gave her to prepare for trial so quickly. Cynthia promptly kept me updated on the status of things without making me wait for answers. The office staff is super friendly; one person even told me that I could talk about things I needed to get off my chest without even being charged money. I felt like I was treated more like a friend then a client, and that’s what I needed during such a difficult time. If you know that your case is going to trial, I urge you to retain Cynthia, unless you’re divorcing me because I want to use her. Seriously though, Cynthia’s exceptional skills as a trial lawyer prevailed in the court room with her confidence and her ability to plan and concisely relay her points to the court. I’m writing this review before I know the outcome of my case because even if things don’t work out in my favor, I know Cynthia did the best she could for me and I will not have any regrets using her services. If you want an attorney that you can trust, one who has you the client as their best interest I recommend Cynthia J. Briscoe.

Do Not Hire

Cynthia was by far the worst experience i have ever had with a lawyer. She not only told me that she had everything filed( which she did not). The communication was horrible i would call and email and would not receive anything back for days. She charged me for stuff she did not do and refuses to cal...l me back to discuss what she billed me for. Its been an absolutely horrible experience and i would never recommend her to anyone for that matter. I would give her 0 stars if it allowed me to.

Beware!

Do not retain Cynthia if you care about your case. 6 months, and almost $3000 later and STILL nothing filed except petition for dissolution. She does not communicate with you, answer calls, or respond to emails. Her secretary will tell you, every time, "I'll call you back with an answer"...never to b...e heard from again. Biggest mistake of my life... Have retained someone else, who is fighting for me and getting things accomplished. BUYER BEWARE

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
