OUTCOME: VA ordered to pay $336,524.97 in Damages and Attorney's Fees.

My client is a primary care physician. A veteran of the armed services herself, she has spent her entire 28-year career with the VA helping other veterans. In 2011, she filed a discrimination charge a ... gainst the VA. Supervisors from Primary Care, Human Resources, and the former Director of the Cincinnati VA Medical Center responded by targeting her through an escalating campaign of harassment and retaliation. After a six day hearing, the federal EEOC Administrative Law Judge, found that the VA had engaged in unlawful retaliation against my client. The Judge ordered the VA to pay my client damages and attorney fees, and most important of all, ordered the Medical Center Director, the Medical Chief of Staff, the Chief of Primary Care Medicine, and the Human Resources Specialist to undergo training to avoid discriminating or retaliating against other VA employees in the future.

Case involved claims of the sexual abuse of a minor by a husband, and negligence of wife in permitting it ... to continue. State Farm argued that the negligence claims against the wife were excluded from coverage under the couple's homeowner's liability insurance policy.

OUTCOME: Criminal charges dismissed.

I defended a member of the local Sikh community against criminal charges of carrying a concealed weapon. The "weapon" was his small, dull bladed "kirpan" sewed into his belt. The kirpan is one of the ... five essential symbols of the Sikh faith. We fought through two jury trials and an appeal before the Court of Appeals dismissed the criminal charges, ruling that the prosecution was infringing on my client's fundamental Constitutional rights of religious freedom.

OUTCOME: $2.9 million jury verdict for my client, Paris Enterprises, Inc.

My client, Paris Enterprises, designed a series of children's sporting goods products bearing the Harlem Globetrotters' name and logo, and entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with the Globetro ... tters to manufacture and market the products for retail sale. The Globetrotters, then under different ownership and management than the current organization, breached the licensing agreement, and took over marketing and selling Paris Enterprises for themselves. We sued for breach of contract, misrepresentation, and fraud.
