Biography
Bill is the founder of MacBride Law, PLLC, in Bozeman, Montana, where he is expanding his patent and trademark practice, among other areeas of law. Prior to founding MacBride Law, Mr. MacBride spend 21 years as a partner at the Helena, MT based firm Gough, Shanahan, Johnson and Waterman (GSJW). Before GSJW, Bill spent 6 years as an Attorney and Landman with Denver, CO based Gold Fields Mining Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Gold Fields of London, UK, representing Gold Fields in Canada, Taiwan and throughout the US. He brought to that company his 11 years of experience as a petroleum geologist, primarily with Pennzoil Company. He believes that his corporate and practical background is invaluable in providing effective representation to its clients.
Bill specializes in business organization, natural resources, real property, intellectual property (copyrights, patents and trademarks) and immigration laws. His federal practice areas (immigration, unpatented mining claims, as well as intellectual property) allow him to serve clients throughout the US.
Bill is a member of the Colorado (now inactive) and Montana Bar Associations and a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is an active member of Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and Rotary International. He was a co-founder of the City of Helena International Affairs Council and was, for many years, on the board of World Montana (the Montana Center for International Visitors) serving two terms as President, the Grant-Kohrs Ranch Foundation (serving the Grant Kohrs National Historic Ranch), and the University of Helena-Montana Foundation Board (serving two years as President). He is active with the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce and Prospera Business Network. Bill is a graduate of Colorado School of Mines (BS Geol. Engr.), University of Houston (MBA) and University of Denver (JD).
