James joined the Ugrin, Alexander, Zadick & Higgins P.C. firm in 2015. He practices general civil litigation. James is a graduate of William and Mary Law School, magna cum laude, where he served as Articles Editor on the Environmental Law and Policy Review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. James previously served as a law clerk to Justice Michael E. Wheat of the Montana Supreme Court and worked as a legal and policy advisor for Senator Max Baucus and Senator John Walsh in Washington, D.C. James received his undergraduate degree, with high honors, from the University of Montana, and was named a Presidential Scholar as the top student in his graduating class. He studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2006.
James was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. He and his wife, Justine, enjoy traveling, hiking, fishing, and attending University of Montana football games.
