Our client, a 51 year old woman, previously worked sedentary jobs, including as a teacher's assistant, a data processor and an insurance research clerk. As a result of a car accident and a work-relate ... d injury, she herniated multiple disks in her neck, her mid back and her low back. Even though she had undergone a total of three surgeries between 2000 and 2012, she continued to experience significant back pain radiating down her legs. Nevertheless, she was turned down when she initially applied for Social Security disability. At the hearing before the judge, I highlighted the medical evidence we had submitted and presented our client's testimony regarding her continuing symptoms and disability. The judge subsequently reversed the denial and awarded disability benefits.
