Monte practices in our Bismarck office. Monte's practice includes insurance defense litigation, administrative law, and corporate and property law. Monte has significant appellate court experience and has successfully argued cases before the North Dakota Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Monte is a 1989 summa cum laude graduate of Moorhead State University and a 1992 cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Law. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas M. Stringer of the Minnesota Seventh Judicial District, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota; and as law clerk to Justice Dale V. Sandstrom of the North Dakota Supreme Court. Monte spent two years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division of the North Dakota Attorney General's office.
Monte is a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, Minnesota State Bar Association, the State Bar of Montana, United States District Court -District of North Dakota, United State Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court.
In his spare time Monte enjoys wildlife and landscape photography.
