This can be a stressful experience in a way, so it was nice to feel like I had "someone in my corner" when nego...tiating with a healthcare conglomerate. I got to know him through a physician company's website. He was the lawyer to assess the contract for doctors. I had a very hard time with the contract at the previous place so I asked him about the money obligation particularly when I leave. I asked him at least a few times because I was anxious but... he did not mention "Promissory Note", which is the huge money obligation. Recently, I decided to leave and found this "Promissory Note". I'm shocked because I may have to pay "several hundred thousand dollars" if I leave. I'm upset with this and got in touch with him but he does not feel responsible for this. He is easy to talk with and may be a nice guy but he did a very bad job for me. To do a good job or be a good guy is a different category. I probably have to pay much more than I received as a salary. I'm in crisis now... Next time, I will hire a lawyer with better quality as a lawyer.
