Ryan Duffy

Ryan Duffy is a criminal defense attorney in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the founder of Ryan Duffy Law. Born and raised in Madison, South Dakota, Ryan has deep roots in the state he serves.

Ryan earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University of South Dakota, followed by his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law, giving him a foundation that bridges law, policy, and the criminal justice system.

Before founding his law firm, Ryan began his legal career at the Minnehaha County Public Defender's Office in Sioux Falls, where he spent over four years defending clients across a wide range of criminal charges. Ryan Duffy has courtroom and negotiation experience in cases involving DWI/DUI defense, drug distribution, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, grand theft, homicide, and criminal sexual conduct (rape). Front-line public defender experience shaped his approach: everyone deserves zealous representation, regardless of the charges they face.

In 2012, Ryan Duffy founded Ryan Duffy Law to focus exclusively on criminal defense in South Dakota. His practice areas include criminal defense, pardon applications, and sentence modifications. Ryan understands that good people face serious charges, and that the outcome of a criminal case can define the rest of a person's life. His commitment is to protect his clients' constitutional rights and pursue the best possible resolution to every case.

Ryan Duffy is licensed to practice law in South Dakota. He lives in the Sioux Falls area with his wife, two daughters, and their German Shepherd.
