John Hughes has been practicing law for more than 37 years. A native of Huron, South Dakota, John received his bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University in 1979. He received his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska Law School in 1982. Practicing mainly in the areas of business, civil litigation, adoptions, serious personal injury, wrongful death, and municipal law, he has served as City Attorney of Baltic, South Dakota, since 1996. John and his wife Beth, Adoption Supervisor, for Hughes Law Office, have been married for 41 years and have three grown sons.
