Steven Randolph Qualley

Professional Background:
Steve began his legal career in Fairmont, Minnesota, where he was an associate at Erickson, Zierke, Kuderer & Madsen from 1993-1996. While in Fairmont, Steve practiced Insurance Defense and General Litigation before moving to the Brainerd Lakes area. In 1996 Steve began working with James Gammello in Pequot Lakes, practicing in the areas of Criminal Prosecution, Family Law, Municipal Law, Real Estate and General Civil Litigation. Jim and Steve moved their practice to Baxter in 2003. Steve has been actively involved in litigation for over 15 years having prepared and presented cases to judges, both at the trial court level and the appellate level, and juries and arbitrators in matters involving commercial contracts, property owner contractor disputes, real estate litigation involving boundary disputes, easements, property purchase and sale, automobile accidents, and family law issues involving divorce, child custody and support. Steve is a former prosecutor for the cities of Pequot Lakes, Crosslake and Crosby, Minnesota, and provided Public Defender services in Martin County, Minnesota. Steve is also currently involved in the representation of area municipalities such as the cities of Lake Shore and Emily, Minnesota, as well as several area townships, and previously provided legal services to several other local municipalities. Steve’s representation of municipal clients includes providing services in all aspects of local governments such as planning and zoning, personnel matters, real estate and general advice to councils and boards. Steve is also well versed in and provides advice and services in Estate Planning and Probate.

Community Involvement:
Steve has been actively involved with several community organizations, including the Crow Wing/Aitkin County Bar Association (Past President), the Martin County Bar Association (Past President), the Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce (Past Board Member and Treasurer), the Jaycees, Mock Trial Coach and Judge, and has been involved with several local non-profit organizations.
