Nightmare!

Brad seemed to be a quality person prior to paying the retainer, but things changed quickly once the check was in his hands. He performed two closings for three parcels of land purchased simultaneously. Also, he talked the bank into hiring him to correct a legal description mistake found during the s...urvey (we paid the bill). After closing, we received the first title in the mail to find my name spelled wrong. We informed Brad immediately because we had 2 more parcels still in process of changing title information because of the incorrect legal description. Brad chose to leave my name spelled incorrectly on the third title when he continued forward with the legal description correction. Brad's idea of fixing the issue was filling an aka without our knowledge or permission. He insists this is the right way to fix the mistake. Now I forever have my name spelled wrong on the title to at least two parcels. Funny I say at least. We still don't have the other two titles so we aren't sure what name the 2nd parcel is under. Brad has held ALL remaining files hostage since we told him he spelled my name wrong. He has actually said the bank is his client for the legal description correction even though he watched me write the check. He also won't provide the title insurance policies we purchased. We recently found out two of three policies we paid for were never taken out. We hired a second lawyer to get our file from Brad, but he never cooperated. We paid for these legal papers. Legally, they belong to us, but he will not give them to us. As far as the title insurance, almost 9 months after closing he is now telling other people (still not talking to us) that there is something wrong with our loan so he can't give us the title insurance policies. The bank assures us there is nothing wrong with our loan. I'm not sure how all of this is going to turn out, but I hope this ends soon.
