Matthew Jordan Nelson

A Native of St. Cloud, Matt graduated from Apollo High School in 2002.  He then attended Saint John’s University where he graduated in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  While at St. John’s, Matt played football for legendary coach John Gagliardi and was a starter on the 2003 Division III National Championship team.  While playing for the Johnnies, Matt was also named MIAC All-Conference (three times); Academic All-Conference, Academic All-District, and All-American his senior year.

After graduation from St. John’s, Matt worked as a youth counselor in the adolescent mental health unit of the St. Cloud Hospital.  He then attended the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, graduating in 2010 in the top 5% of his class.   While at St. Thomas, Matt was on the Dean’s List five times; a three time recipient of the Dean’s Award for the highest grade; and was both an associate and senior editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal.

Following law school, Matt worked for a Minneapolis law firm, practicing in the areas of personal injury defense, construction law, municipal law, and estate planning.   Matt joined Nelson Personal Injury in the fall of 2012 where he dedicates his practice to helping clients who are injured by the carelessness of others.

Matt represents people who have experienced serious injuries, or the wrongful death of a family member, including claims involving automobile and motorcycle accidents, premises liability, defective products and worker’s compensation.
