State v. J.F.
Oct 01, 2008OUTCOME: Not Guilty, all counts
JF thought she was just joining her friends on a trip to Atlanta for a few days. What the 52 year old grandmother from San Antonio, Texas never realized was that these "friends" were actually running ... half kilos of cocaine and methamphetamine from Mexico to Atlanta. They were using JF as a decoy to make their trip look more legitimate. Unfortunately for all of them, they were stopped by law enforcement outside Atlanta. Despite our protestations, the Government wouldn't back down on trafficking charges. We took it to trial where J.F. was facing 25 years in prison at a minimum if we lost. Fortunately, she stood strong and the jury listened to us and she is now home enjoying her grandchildren.
