$150 is the initial consultation fee to meet in person with me to review the issues and obtain my professionalo opinion of the matter. I charge this fee to everyone for an initial consultation. I try to explain and perhaps to much that there is no attorney client relationship and I am not hired as your lawyer on an initial consultation only. I am hired only after there is a signed written retainer agreement simultaneously given with a larger lump sum payment to me or a "retainer fee" which can range anywhere from $1500 up to $10,000 or more depending on the details. If you do not pay and sign a retainer fee, after our initial consultation for $150, thats it. No one meets with me for professional advice without the consult fee. I am a private practice attorney and I do charge hourly fees and require advance retainer lump sum payments to assure payment before engaging in legal work on a clients behalf.
