VERY GOOD - QUICK AND TO THE POINT

We found ourselves with a daughter in jail, she was innocent, was not given any of her meds and she had many health issues, and died in 2013. However, someone told us about Keith, we called him, had a meeting with him on a Friday morning, by Friday afternoon, our daughter was out of jail and we took... her to ER - very bad situation at the jail in Carlton. Yes, it cost something but we were willing to pay for service. Since then he has helped us with numerous legal questions, sale of property and our wills. If needed, we would call Keith again.

Real Estate

At our first visit Mr. Carlson wanted and received by check a $2500 retainer, and personally wrote a receipt.. He said we would have our destructive buyers/renters out in 3 months. Although we had a letter from my sister authorizing us to be her agent, he insisted we complete more paperwork for h...er to sign, and offered to send it to her. It's good I obtained the document and read it over before sending it to her myself. The paper had the wrong legal description so that we would be transferring some of our property to my sister instead of her transferring to us. I reported this to him and had to wait for a correct document. In court he did not speak up for us or present any of our documentation. The Judge did not rule in our favor. Afterwards Mr. Carlson claimed we had only given him $1500, and sent a bill for more money, so I had to write and send copies of our check and his receipt. Then he said it was the bookkeepers fault. We had to hire a different attorney to get the people out 2 1/2 years later, by which time the home had been trashed and vandalized. We had to hire plumbers, cleaners, LP gas repairmen, and replace windows, screens, doors, toilet, paneling, floors and all floor covering. We still haven't got it totally finished.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
