Sung Woo Hong

Sung Woo Hong is a Minnesota attorney and founder of Hong Immigration Law, an immigrant-centered firm helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate U.S. immigration so they can build stable, meaningful lives in the United States. Drawing on his own path from international student to U.S. citizen, Sung Woo leads the firm with excellence, integrity, and compassion. Hong Immigration Law assists with visas, green cards, naturalization, and other immigration matters through results-driven advocacy that helps clients make informed decisions and pursue their American Dream.

Fluent in Korean and English, Sung Woo is especially committed to serving Minnesota’s Korean community while representing immigrants from diverse backgrounds. He values clients’ languages, cultures, and personal stories without limiting the firm to any one community. He also builds relationships with local business owners and professionals so clients can access broader support, opportunity, and connection beyond their immigration cases.
Sung Woo earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, graduating magna cum laude and as a Phi Beta Kappa member. He received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he participated in the Christian Legal Society, Theatre of the Relatively Talentless as a pianist, and the Minnesota Journal of International Law. He also served as a judicial extern for a federal magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Beyond his firm, Sung Woo serves on the board of the Christian Legal Society of Minnesota, participates actively in BNI, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In recognition of his commitment to legal excellence and community service, the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association named him its 2024 Member of the Year.
