Robert Keena helped build Hellmuth & Johnson’s litigation practice to find solutions that others don’t think of. “Other firms have larger practices, but I don’t know of any that embrace complexity with creative thinking the way we do,” he says. “I love it when someone who has a tough problem, and who’s getting pushed around and bullied, comes in and says, ‘I need a bulldog.’”

As chair of the firm’s litigation practice and an active member of the real estate, construction and employment law practices, Robert channels his tenacity and imagination on behalf of individuals and businesses that face a variety of litigation issues, including:

He has extensive commercial litigation experience in matters involving real estate disputes, shareholder disputes, trade secret protection, probate disputes, and large-scale tort actions. His construction practice in Minnesota and North Dakota involves the representation of a significant number of builders faced with contract issues, as well as property owners faced with construction defect claims.

The passion Robert brings to his practice has not gone unnoticed. For five consecutive years (2008-2013), he has been chosen for inclusion in the Minnesota Super Lawyers® list; only 5% of attorneys in Minnesota are selected each year. He was also named a Rising Star for multiple years running.
