Very misleading

I was given information by so many different people. Never once actually talking to an Attorney. I would receive invoices even after was paid in full. I would call and the person on the phone would tell or sorry that was a computer error. Then the paralegal sends me an email telling oh don't all tha...t will be factored into your month debit owed. So I was told I could keep my car, then told i would not be able to keep it when I was filing chapter 7. Now I said well I can't lose my car. So they said you need to file Chapter 13 then I can keep it. never telling or explaining so I am understand since I am not an attorney that would cost me more. After all attorney fees paid and paying a monthly fee to a trustee plus giving anything above a $1200 tax return to the trustee that will not go to the total debit (I was told it was a bonus for the debtor) Quick math showed me I would be almost paying back just under my told debit. So why file, why not just work out some arrangement with the creditors. This is a scam and they have you on the hook because you are desperate, maybe because you lost a job or some major medical thing happened. Mr. Curtis Walker your office is very misleading and should be a shamed of yourselves.

There must be a better firm

I filed bankruptcy with "Curtis walker" But never saw him or any other attorney. All work was done by assistants or para legals. The process was confusing and I was misinformed by an assistant on several items - told I could keep my car, then all of the sudden told it could be taken and that I shoul...d "hide" it and swap with a friend or family member. Then, I was told that I could in fact keep my car. The communications I recieved were also unorganized. And telling me my court date is this day, and a email saying it's on another day. Out of four or five different employees that I had interaction with, only one seemed really care. Obviously this was a stressful situation, and you would think there would be more empathy and customer service skills. If you aren't well versed in the law and this process, I'd go somewhere else to file bankruptcy!

No better than creditors.

No better than the creditors. When they really are doing nothing. When filing for help against the credit industry you shouldn't feel like you attorney is against you too. The trustee in my case actually gave me better advice than the attorneys at Curtis Walker. I was given advice that cost me over ...$10.000 more than I should've paid. I was told not to contact the trustees office, when I was about 2 years into my chapter 13 I finally called the trustee because I had some questions that "my attorney" could n't answer. Well the trustee informed me that I was paying off debt that I shouldn't have however because of the bad advice that I was given by "my attorney" I was stuck paying for something that I really shouldn't be. If you find yourself looking for a bankruptcy attorney stay away from Curtis Walker...
