My experience with Tim was deeply frustrating and disappointing. From the outset, his communication was inconsistent at best and nonexistent at worst. Emails often went unanswered for days, sometimes even weeks, requiring multiple follow-ups via email and text before receiving a response—if one came ...at all. To this day, there are inquiries that remain unresolved. Beyond his lack of responsiveness, Tim demonstrated little initiative or commitment to truly assisting me. Rather than providing the legal guidance I was paying for, he repeatedly shifted the burden onto me or implied that additional assistance would require further legal fees. In what was already an incredibly stressful custody case, I found myself navigating much of it alone. I even had to draft my own custody agreement, and when I sought his review, his response was cursory at best—offering no substantive feedback or recommendations. When opposing counsel introduced technical changes I didn’t fully understand, I turned to Tim for clarification. His response? A vague acknowledgment that “the child support section is completely different,” without explaining the implications or offering guidance on next steps. Only when I pointed out specific concerns myself did he provide minimal input—ultimately telling me to attach an additional document without further explanation. When I raised concerns about his delays and lack of engagement, his response was dismissive. He insisted that “things move slowly in this world” and that I shouldn’t expect responses within 24 hours. Yet, the email in question had been sent 10 days prior—an unreasonable delay by any professional standard. This same disregard for timely communication was evident when I requested an itemized receipt. Despite following up at the four-week mark, it ultimately took him five weeks to provide it. In the end, I believe I was changed excessively for little more than forwarded emails (many of which he did not review despite my explicit request), attendance at a single two-hour mediation, and a glaring absence of advocacy on my behalf. If you are seeking an attorney who is engaged, communicative, and genuinely invested in your case, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. My experience with Tim was not only disappointing—it was a costly mistake.

I hired this attorney for what should have been a simple legal\real estate matter. He dragged out the issue which cost me a lot of money. He is a solo practitioner that has two offices. I found him to be very inconsistent with his communication with me. During the litigation, he didn't communicat...e with me when I had specific questions. In the end, I didn't get what I was after when I originally sought legal assistance. I was very disappointed with Mr. O'Brien. He didn't seem to care and he charged me excessively.
