Biography
Nurse attorney Teresa Fariss McClain utilizes her legal and medical knowledge and experience to achieve justice for her clients. Prior to graduation from William Mitchell College of Law, she practiced as a registered nurse in the areas of obstetrics and adult critical care. Following law school, Ms. McClain clerked for the Honorable Donald P. Lay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Ms. McClain is committed to serving as an advocate for her clients, listening to their stories, researching their cases and effectively representing their stances to achieve just outcomes. In addition to her trial practice, Ms. McClain is a qualified civil neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.
Ms. McClain is Immediate Past President of Minnesota Women Lawyers, is a Director of Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation, and is a member of the Minnesota State and Ramsey County Bar Associations, and Minnesota Association for Justice, and serves in several professional and civic groups. She is a former adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching Legal Writing and Representation. Ms. McClain has been named a 2014 Lawyer of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer, a 2014 Super Lawyer in the area of Plaintiff's Medical Malpractice, and formerly was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed to only 2.5% of Minnesota lawyers. She represents clients in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Ms. McClain lives in Shoreview, Minnesota, with her husband, Gary. They have twin boys and two adult children.
