Jennifer Bouta Mojica

Jennifer (“Jenny”) Bouta Mojica received her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2006, and her B.A. in International Studies and French from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1999. Prior to law school, she worked as an Immigration Legal Assistant at Berry, Appleman & Leiden, LLP in San Francisco (2001-2002), and as a Case Manager at Myers Thompson, PA in Minneapolis (2002-2003). In law school, she interned in the Women’s Human Rights program at the Advocates for Human Rights, and worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Jenny has worked with Myers Thompson as an attorney since 2006. Focusing on employment-based immigration, she works with nultinational and domestic clients in a wide range of industries including healthcare, women’s health, medical device development and manufacturing, information technology, marketing and advertising, consumer retail, fitness and sports, transportation, education testing, and television, among other industries. Jenny has extensive experience working on nonimmigrant petitions (H, L, O, TN, E, B-1), J-1 Waiver Applications for Foreign Medical Graduates, Labor Certification Applications, immigrant visa petitions including Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Researcher and National Interest Waiver Petitions, and Adjustment of Status Applications. She is currently working pro bono on an Asylum case in collaboration with the Advocates for Human Rights.
Jenny served as the American Immigration Council’s ambassador to the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA) (2009-2011), she has been an AILA member since 2005 and currently serves as an AILA Mentor to other immigration practitioners nationally.
