Used for child support

Jodi is a great Lawyer. I first used her for getting custody of my daughter. She was so helpful the first time that about 4 years later when we had to go to court again I called her right away for her help. She really tries to help you get what is best for your child and listens to what you have to s...ay. If I ever need a lawyer again, she will be the first person I call.

Divorce

I hired Jodi Langhorst See to represent me with my divorce in August 2015. After 2 years, I have not receive one document or filings via US Mail, but only through email which were not always appropriately signed by all parties on the emailed copy. This was a difficult divorce. As I asked question...s and looked to Jodi for advise as to what was in my best interest? I received some answers and options but they were never followed through. Most of my questions were not explained to me so I could make clear choices with understanding. The answers I did receive changed every time we met. A lot of time she did not even remember what she advised me to do and they never were written in a document submitted to myself or the opposing attorney throughout negotiations. She did not write up the stipulation orders, but had opposing attorney write them, which have resulted in my inability to clearly understand what it stated. I would receive emails of the opposing attorney from Jodi with information that was left for me to interpret on my own understanding. When I would ask questions, she would appear frustrated with me and I never felt comfortable knowing what I might be agreeing to. I filed for the divorce with her, stating clearly my expectations in 2015. She filed one step at a time; first for temporary custody and support; approximately one year later we had our FENE; then followed, what I was told to be a custody evaluation, but ended up being only a parenting assesment, that would not hold up if a trail came to be. All this should have been taken care of at the pre trial, but was not. She has unfairly charged me over $30,000 in fees and filings over a 2 year period only to withdraw from my case a month before trial. I am receiving far less than a fair settlement based on the fact that I cannot hire an attorney to fairly represent me this close to trial and must represent myself at this point. Had Jodi filed all the proper motions upon retaininment all the facts and mediations, as well as custody evaluations would have been completed within 6 months from time of filing and we could have been done closer to a year rather 2 years. If you are looking for someone to be looking out for your best interest in a divorce, I would not recommend this attorney.

It is unfortunate that this former client chose to provide false information. Up to the date I withdrew she was very happy with the services I provided and actually begged me to stay on as her lawyer, but I elected to withdraw when she did not fulfill our contractual agreement. I have bills to pay too and a family so I can't work for free for clients that have the ability to pay. I do a great deal of free work for clients that cannot afford to pay but when a party agrees to pay and then does not do so, I can't continue to incur time and expense without a plan to resolve what they owe.

A+ Attorney

I can't thank Jodi enough for your help with my case. Jodi provides top notch expertise and service; with continuous, thorough and straight-forward communication of the process, the proceedings and my options...along with taking the leadership role keeping the other party's attorney on task. Jodi d...oes all of this with a dose of humanity through a trying process. I would definitely recommend her to any one needing legal assistance. Thanks again Jodi!

Jodi 2014

I have known Jodi since the spring of 2014. I had two attorneys prior to hiring Jodi for her services. I decided to hire jodi because she was willing to fight for what I wanted and believed in when no one else would. I wanted to move myself and my two children to another city just over the minnesota.../wisconsin border to start a new life and give them better opportunities. My last attorney wouldn't even listen to me so that is when I sought out Jodi. I interviewed several attorneys and Jodi really seemed to know what she was talking about, didn't sugar coat anything or make promises she couldn't keep. She was very honest and straight forward and listened to what I wanted and had to say. She does her research and helped me understand the process along the way. She also tried to keep costs down for me as well and had me do what I could myself and was flexible with payments to her. I have referred a few people to her already and would anyone else in a heart beat. She is an outstanding attorney, not only because she helped me win my case but because I could trust her and count on her to do the right things for myself and my children.
