Happy to see she is no longer practicing

My father helped me hire Lynn for my divorce years ago. I have since gone to law school myself and cannot believe this woman hasn't been disbarred altogether. My father paid Lynn $2,000 for a retainer. When we got to court Lynn had no idea what she was talking about, she couldn't answer any of the qu...estions the judge was asking her, and she actually encouraged me to give up the rights to my kids and continue to collect childsupport. First of all, I never cared about childsupport, I simply wanted my exhusband to stop harassing us. Second, my exhusband wanted nothing to do with our kids. This "lawyer" did not listen to anything that was said and made a fool of herself.

Do not use her.

I had an average lawyer before I retained her. My divorce case was difficult. Before I retained her, she had said all the right ideas about my case. However, after I gave her the retainer, I found her non-responsive to my emails, nor did she return phone calls promptly. When she did respond to in...quiries through email, her messages were long and drawn out. She would charge for reading emails (10 minutes per email) and she would charge for listening to phone messages. During a negotiation session with the opposing team....I was the person who represented me. She sat silent...and was more concerned about another client (she had to leave the room several times to answer phone calls from this party.) Her knowledge of law I am not sure about, since she did not exhibit or display any knowledge. I quickly let her go after the negotiations (which I "had" to have her there). I was charged for her reading emails for the same questions which I needed answer's too but she would take 3-4 days to respond. Financially...she hurt me. I should have left her early. I am still paying off my debt to her and I am thinking of bringing this to court. When I did find another lawyer (very reputable and very good), they told me she has a history. When I went to pick up the legal documents for my case at her office....she had about 20 pages....of faxes. Terrible....Terrible. For your sake, do not hire her.

Not a very good lawyer

After hiring and giving her the retainer, she never returned calls or emails, went to her office and its closing... Shes put a huge delay on me trying to get custody of my daughter and has extremely hurt my case.

Extremely unprofessional

I really liked Ms. Taplin's website....it said all the right things. If only she could translate those words into actual work. The only time that Ms. Taplin bothered to return my calls was prior to getting her retainer. Following that she missed a court date; her office never answers calls....an...d though I have left many messages and emails; she never returns my call and rarely responds to email. I have an upcoming court date and I have no idea if she will handle the matter before then or not; or even if she will show up at all. I have no idea if she is a good lawyer. I just know she is very unprofessional. Time to try and get my retainer back and hire another attorney before she ruins my life.
