Darwin Scott Williams

Darwin S. Williams is a litigation attorney at David Werwie & Associates, which is the local in-house law office for State Farm Mutual Insurance company. Mr. Williams focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation, defending clients/insureds in the areas of personal injury, general liability/negligence issues, and property damage. 

Prior to joining State Farm in October 2024, Darwin was an in-house litigator for American Family Mutual Insurance (9 1/2 years) in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. And prior to American Family, Darwin was an associate at Jardine, Logan & O’Brien, P.L.L.P.  (7 1/2 years) in Lake Elmo, MN.  Mr. Williams also gained valuable experience as a law clerk to Judge Natalie E. Hudson of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. He was also an ombudsman investigator, enforcing crime victim rights with the Minnesota Office of Justice Programs. During law school, Mr. Williams was a law clerk in the Office of the Hennepin County Attorney. He worked in three divisions: administration, civil, and child protection. As a member of the civil division, Mr. Williams gained experience in employment law and general civil litigation defense.

Before attending law school Mr. Williams had a career with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Williams served as the 2007-08 Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Professionalism Committee. He was the 2009 president of the University of St. Thomas Law Alumni Advisory Board and sat on the Law School’s Board of Governors in 2009 and 2010.
