I had barbara deneen as a public defender in 2012. She absolutely tried to sabotage my life. At 18 I made a mistake and I regret it to this day. I had no priors. No points! My first court appearance was my bail hearing I believe. Before we entered the court room she came to me and offered me a pl...ea deal for 90 MONTHS! At my f***ing bail hearing! My bail was $75,000. I asked repeatedly for her to ask if it could get lowered, she never tried once. I say in Ramsey County Jail for approximately 3-4 months. Every single visit was cut short by her arguing with me and literally telling me she knew I did it. At 18 years old I honestly thought my life was over with her at my defense. After months in the jail, my request to her supervisor was finally granted! A new public defender. Her name was Leah Morgan! She was great! Leah Morgan got me a plea deal for 1 year in the workhouse! Which was a really great difference from 90months as a teenager. She always was on my side and was really helpful and down to earth. She really showed she cared. Unlike Barbara. I would give Leah Morgan 4 stars and this was 3 years ago. I wouldn't recommend Barbara to my worst enemy. If anyone has our is going through this with this particular lawyer, I will personally testify in court.
