My lawyer got me from domestic abuse charge to misorderly conduct charge. 1 year probation instead of the usual 2 years of probation. Although, it was 2 years until my sentence due to COVID-19 and my attorney’s advice to just wait to we hear from the prosecutor to begin anything. $100 fine I also had... to pay. Probation clause was that if I messed up on probation automatically 89 days in jail since I already served the first night when I was arrested. He was proactive in getting my addiction assessment done (since when i was arrested I was drunk) prior to having the probation officer request their own assessment which they did but judge agreed there was no reason to have 2 assessments. My only complaint is that I wish he would have communicated with me on his on where we are or what we are still doing over that time frame. Even if he would have reached out before the day of court so it gave me piece of mind or time to digest things. I know it was under unusual circumstances with COVID-19 and that he would have not know exactly what the outcome would have been the day of court but at least review the game plan. I don’t want to go into full detail about my case. Basically I was falsely accused by my little sister of beating her during a heated argument, the argument did take place and that led to the police being called but the assault didn’t. She did not have any bruising,scratches,or any injury whatsoever..., being a 6ft, 265 pound male who “viciously attacked” her as she claimed it didn’t make sense, but the police didn’t care.
