Mary Ann Pfeifer

Mary A. Pfeifer was born in Minot, North Dakota, and graduated from Watford City High School in Watford City. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Minnesota State University—Moorhead in 2001 and her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 2004. Mary has approximately nine years of experience and represents clients in family law, tax law, and probate and estate planning. Her family law practice includes divorce, paternity, adoption, custody, parenting time, child support, grandparents’ rights, third-party rights, termination of parental rights, and matters involving orders for protection or harassment. She also assists clients with unpaid state and federal taxes, offers in compromise, penalty abatements, and tax audits. In probate and estate planning, Mary handles both contested and uncontested probates, wills, and related planning needs, along with select general civil litigation, power of attorney disputes, and property disputes. She believes families are often best served when they can reach their own agreements through negotiation or mediation, and she works hard to find practical solutions early. When settlement isn’t possible, she draws on her litigation experience to guide clients through court and present clear, persuasive arguments. Mary is admitted to practice in Minnesota (2004) and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota (2005).
