OUTCOME: Judge granted petition to stop probation, but denied petition to remove him from sex offender registry.
Client hired me to petition the court to remove client from the GA sex offender registry and to remove any residency, employment restrictions. It had been more than 10 years since completing probation... when I filed the petition. There were no arrests or probation violations since being sentenced in 2002.

$Six figure, pre-litigation crash case settlement
Jan 16, 2023
OUTCOME: Settled, $325,000.00
Client was hit by a negligent driver that turned in front of him at highway speeds. Major vehicle damage and injuries to people inside of both vehicles. There was great insurance covering all vehicle...s. The client's doctors said client made a full recovery other than some residual scarring. A settlement was both prompt and reasonable. Client found lawyer doing a Google search for Jasper, GA lawyers; noticed the 24 years of experience and all the 5-star Google reviews.

Rear-end collision case settled after three years!
Nov 08, 2022
OUTCOME: Settled!
Three years ago, client was rear-ended at relatively low-speed. When my demand wasn't paid, I immediately filed suit. Covid-19 caused at least one trial continuance in 2021 and that was devastating. ... We mediated the case and were able to get my client a very-good settlement notwithstanding years of low-ball counter-offers.
Landlord or tenant
Eviction appeal successful
Oct 26, 2022
OUTCOME: appeal won!
Client tried to get a tenant evicted in Magistrate Court and won. But, the tenant appealed and that's when client hired me. After a full hearing in Superior Court, the judge ordered the tenant to lea...ve within three weeks. The judge granted all attorney's fees and back rent, too. Good luck collecting anything, however. The client was very happy with my services.

Traffic citation case dismissed!
Jul 19, 2022
OUTCOME: Case dismissed!
Client, accused of failing to stop at a stop sign, hired me to defend the case. The cop states he failed to stop, but the client and his wife said otherwise. At arraignment, using persuasive arguing,... the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case. The officer involved agreed due in large part because my client was a former military officer and didn't want to go to trial on the matter.

Major traffic charges dismissed!
Apr 21, 2022
OUTCOME: Two of three charges dismissed, client plead to least-serious offense.
Client crashed his vehicle into a tree and left the scene on foot. Police were called and found him along a road propped up against a hill. He smelled of alcohol, admitted drinking, admitted to drivi...ng and to crashing the vehicle. He was charged with hit and run; driving on a suspended registration; and pedestrian under the influence. The first two charges, if convicted or plead guilty to, result in a mandatory 12 month license suspensions in GA. The last charge is just a fine if convicted or plead to. On client's arraignment date, I persuaded the prosecuting attorney to dismiss the first two counts as they had no case. Crashing into a tree then leaving the scene isn't hit and run in GA. Also, client was driving someone else's vehicle, and the state couldn't prove my client KNEW he was driving a vehicle with an invalid registration. The prosecutor agreed on the first two charges, but wanted a guilty plea on the pedestrian under the influence charge in exchange for dismissing the other two charges. After consulting with the client, he agreed to plead out rather than have a trial on all three. Suffice it to say, client is absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

DFCS case dismissed!
Apr 07, 2022
OUTCOME: Case diismissed!
Clients, a mother and father of two, before hiring me temporarily lost their kids to DFCS as a result of Covid-related illness and complications. At the first court appearance, I successfully persuade...d the DFCS attorney to let the children come home under a three-month protective order. If there had to be a hearing, I felt very comfortable we would have won.
Before the three months expired, DFCS dismissed the case against my clients.
Speeding and traffic ticket
Major license points averted
Mar 16, 2022
OUTCOME: Reduced all serious charges to no point offenses/dismissals
Client, charged with speeding, 90 in a 65; reckless driving; too fast for conditions; and driving on a suspended registration, hired me. There was no defense as it involved a State Patrol vehicle that... clocked client on a major highway. The goal all along was to attempt to get rid of all points so client's driving record would remain clean. I had client attend a defensive driving class and presented it at his arraignment. We didn't even have to use Nolo either. A very, very happy client.
Uncontested divorce
Divorce granted
Jul 12, 2021
OUTCOME: Uncontested divorce granted!
Client contacted me for an uncontested divorce. He found me using an internet search. We spoke for about 20 minutes and once I was paid, I got to work immediately! There was no reason to meet the cl...ient in person. Within a day, I had prepared all necessary documents and then fiIed the petition for divorce. I then mailed his wife all the required paperwork for her signature. Once received, I had the client sign the documents and then submitted them to the judge. The judge signed the order granting the divorce within days. I filed the order and mailed copies to the client and his now former wife. NO COURT APPEARANCE WAS NECESSARY! I never had to meet the client in person. Total time involved was three (3) months including a one (1) month delay involving documents in transit. A client and his wife got a divorced for less than $750.00 including $275.00 in court filing fees. That amount no longer applies effectively immediately! Contact me to inquire about current fees.
A client that was sentenced in 2002 to child molestation served a 10-year prison term and another 10 years on probation. There've been no discipline issues or new offenses. Client hired me to have hi...s sentence changed to allow contact visits with his minor grand children INCLUDING! overnight visits.
The D.A. was vehemently opposed to such visitation and reminded the judge what client was accused of so long ago.
The hearing was online with multiple witnesses, microphone/camera difficulties, and a judge that let us know she'd been up all last night...
