Dec 13, 2012OUTCOME: STRS failed to support why Plaintiff's position as a behavior analyst qualified as a "teacher"
Plaintiff was receiving disability benefits from STRS and was employed in a school district in a different state as a behavior analyst. Her position as a behavior analyst did not require any type of t ... eaching license. STRS terminated her benefits and claimed that she was obligated to reimburse STRS for all amounts she received on disability while employed in Florida. Plaintiff filed suit stating that her employment as a behavior analyst did not equate with employment as a "teacher" and as a result, STRS acted improperly.
