Neither charge would block handgun possession or purchase even with a conviction.

It is not too late for you to be charged. They would have a hard time proving your intoxication, though. However, you will not be much of a friend...

Taking the classes beats walking. These classes are often available nights and on weekends. They will not reinstate your license until you take them.
