Worst immigration lawyer to hire

An immigration lawyer who lost a civil case and immigration case too. Check her out in Wisconsin free court cases representing Tami Abanukam.

Naturalisation process

I highly recommend M. Ghayyad to guide you through Naturalization process. She is very qualified in the immigration field. It was important for me to have an attorney that is calm, confident and understanding. Thank you!

Professional, Knowledgeable, & Genuinely Cares!

Maryam was an incredible attorney to work with - she helped me get past an OPT denial and get my application for permanent residence approved! I first met with Maryam after my OPT was denied and during my appeal process, and then continued working with her when I filed for permanent residence through... marriage. Before hiring her to help with my case, my husband and I had met with a few other lawyers to see who would be the best fit to help me; Maryam was a standout among the 3 other attorneys we met with. From the the very first meeting, we could tell that she was professional and knowledgable about immigration proceedings, showed great interest and concern for my situation, GENUINELY CARED and wanted to help, displayed great attention to detail as well as understanding of my immigration history, and never once pressured me to choose her as my lawyer. After working with her for 2 years, we are most impressed by her work ethic (e.g. she continued to work on our case during her maternity leave so that she didn't have to leave us with another attorney that had no prior knowledge of our case), moral character, and the fact that she is always thinking several steps ahead and is prepared for (and also prepared us for) any outcome while still doing everything possible to prevent the worst from happening. Last but not least, Maryam almost always responded within the same day and never more than 24 hours of either of us contacting her with a question or concern (unless it was the weekend) - for us, this was HUGE! We did not experience this with other attorneys so we found this to be a huge advantage!

A very competent and professional immigration lawyer

Maryam represented my wife and I as we applied for permanent residence status for her after our marriage. My wife and I needed to live apart after we married while I finished school and while my wife started a new job out of state. In spite of this, Maryam quickly guided our case to approval without ...requests for evidence or delay. Maryam was very knowledgeable and honest about the specific challenges we faced in our case and we were always confident and assured that she would be able to achieve a favorable decision for us. Maryam saved us from the difficulties and stress of trying to get our case approved in what was already a very stressful time for us. Moreover, Maryam was very transparent about the costs and receptive to our individual needs. Above all, Maryam was very thorough in preparing the evidence for our case and provided us with a preparation session prior to our immigration interview with USCIS which made us feel confident going into our interview. She is very knowledgeable about immigration law and understands the human toll and impact that everyday people face when dealing with their immigration matters. She is also up-to-date on the changing immigration environment and understands how it affects her clients. I always had complete confidence that Maryam was handling our case correctly and in her competence as a lawyer. She also provided us with helpful information about our immigration-related responsibilities moving forward after the approval of our case. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs an immigration lawyer to represent them.

Great experience

Attorney Ghayyad was a very professional lawyer who has helped us with our challenging case from A to Z. She was detailed, thorough, supportive, and knowledgeable. She knew what she was doing. We chose her to represent us because of her experience with clients coming from the Middle East. We would de...finitely deal with her in the future.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
