OUTCOME: The MD Court of Appeals held that Maryland must recognize this marriage for purposes of divorce, which meant that MD must recognize out of state valid marriages between same-sex couples.

This was a case in which a same-sex couple were together for many years and raised children together. One member of the couple was the biological mother of the children, but the couple together decide ... d to have the children and raise them as their own. After the break-up, the biological mother eventually refused to let the nonbiological mother see the children. During the course of litigation we were able to settle the case so our client could visit with her children.
OUTCOME: Virginia Supreme Court ordered that both parents must ne listed on the birth certificate.
This was a challenge to Virginia's policy to refuse to list same-sex parents on a child's birth certificate.
