Do not hire!

I was EXTREMELY unhappy with Mr. Merry. I went to him with an issue of jurisdiction from one state to another. I had told him that I was directed by an attorney, from the current state that my case was in, to Wisconsin to start the proceedings to have the case moved. I asked him if the information I ...received from that attorney was actually correct. Mr. Merry told me that it was the correct procedure, so we started the process. Once we got into court, Merry was COMPLETELY disorganized. He didn't get any of the important dates involved in the court proceedings right and come to find out, I was told I had put the cart before the horse and had to go back to the State the case is in and start over. I lost valuable time and money over this whole deal because of inept counsel!!!

EH

Roger Merry is a nice man, and pretty honest about what he things will/won't happen. However he appeared to be disorganized and unknowledgeable of our case while he represented us for over a year in a custody matter. we came out with a portion of what we were fighting for. he told my husband to agree... to something that wasn't what we wanted fully, so instead of having a trial (where we later found out we would've most likely won) he agreed to an order that has now given us nothing but problems.

When did criminals become lawyers?

CCAP says he has done some not so nice things. His own governing authority has sanctioned him several times for misconduct including attempting to deceive his own legal system. He is a terrible lawyer on top of it.

Bad Divorce went worse

I am sorry to say that this lawyer was not helpful at all when it came to my divorce in 2006. He made fun of me in a quiet way in front of my ex-husband and his lawyer. I was wondering who's side he was on? It cost more than I thought and I got hosed in the deal that he made. He told me that my ex co...uld claim my son on taxes for more than 5 years of my time because he knew I would be having more kids anyway!!!... Now, after undergoing chemotherapy I am unable to have anymore children. I felt he was not on my side and he filed paperwork to claim money I owed him without even sending me a letter or calling me on the phone to ask for more payment. I was on a payment plan that was paid every month and he decided that if he took me to court he could get the 12% interest in till it was paid. I paid him the next day and to this day that is on my record of nonpayment and that he filed court charges. I am very unhappy and feel that he has done a lousy job of fighting for my rights as a mother and for my due monies from the divorce settlement. My ex-husband and I were married less than a year when he left for someone else. He in turn won over 20K and I paid well over 3k to Roger Merry to make me look like a fool in court in front of him. What comes around will go around. Warning to all who feel they want to retain his services!
