Kristin Marie Cafferty

Kristin M. Cafferty is a shareholder at Habush Habush & Rottier in the Racine office. Her practice includes the representation of victims of personal injuries from automobile accidents, dog bites, slip & falls, and vaccines. Kristin has a history of numerous successful settlements, jury verdicts and appeals for her clients in and outside of Wisconsin and in the federal courts. 

Kristin’s trial experience and appellate work, including argument before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, have earned her recognition as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She is admitted to practice before the State of Wisconsin, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the Northern District of Indiana, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Kristin is Past-President of the Racine County Bar Association. She is a Racine County Court Commissioner for the Hon. Robert Repischak. Kristin has served on the Board of Governors of the Wisconsin Association for Justice since 2007, and now serves as Treasurer of the organization. She also serves as the President of the Wisconsin Civil Justice Education Foundation. Kristin has been appointed by the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court to serve on the District 15 Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

Kristin has been named a Super Lawyer and one of the top 25 women attorneys in the state of Wisconsin since 2009. In 2015, she was also named to Super Lawyers’ list of Top 50 attorneys in Wisconsin. Kristin was recognized as a Women in the Law Honoree by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2010.

Kristin has organized many Continuing Legal Education seminars for the Racine County Bar Association and for the Wisconsin Association for Justice. She is also regularly invited to present to other lawyers, including seminars sponsored by Marquette University Law School and the Wisconsin Association for Justice.  She has also been a speaker to local community organizations and schools about legal issues, including insurance and trial advocacy. Kristin spearheaded a program to present mock trials to local grade school students as part of the Law Day program for the Racine County Bar Association. She also serves in various leadership roles in the Habush Habush & Rottier law firm.

Kristin is an active volunteer in the Racine community. She was the Volunteer of the Year for the Racine County Bar Association in 2012 and for Racine Youth Sports in 2013. She is active as a poll observer on Election Day. She is a past member of the Parish Council for St. Joseph Parish, where she continues to serve on the Personnel Committee. Kristin is also a member of the Education Committee for the Siena Catholic Schools of Racine. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for Racine Neighborhood Watch. Kristin is a former mock trial coach for St. Catherine’s High School, and a volleyball coach for St. Joseph School and for Racine Youth Sports. 

Kristin was born and raised in Wisconsin. She graduated from Marquette University, earning a B.S. in 1991 and a J.D. in 1994. Kristin resides in Racine with her husband, Patrick, and their four children and enjoys traveling, cooking with friends and Marquette basketball.
