Biography
I have been practicing law for 44 years. Simultaneously I have been a law professor at Marquette University Law School for 42 years, teaching courses in real estate and sports law. I was the founder of the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette University Law School, the leading sports law program in the country. Our practice in the real estate area is concentrated in negotiating and drafting acquisition agreements, real estate financing, tax deferred exchanges, real estate development, boundary law and adjoining landowner disputes, condominium law, real estate brokerage law and liability prevention, and real estate title law. With respect to sports law, our practice is most heavily concentrated in the area of representation of college and professional coaches in contract negotiations, sports facility development – including all aspects of venue development and adjoining real estate development, and issues facing NCAA athletes and amateur athletes. I was recognized as one of Milwaukee’s best real estate lawyers, as well as designated a Best Lawyer in Sports Law.
